Great northern beans are a low-fat, cholesterol-free, low-calorie source of iron, dietary fiber, potassium and protein. According to the Harvard School of Public Health, eating beans like great northern beans regularly can reduce your risk of many potentially serious medical conditions, especially when they are used as a protein source in place of red meat.
